There appeared to have been Hotel Quarantine Breaches that have been attributed to security staff and contractors. As the number of cases rose, the state government re-imposed restrictions that had previously been eased at the start of June.

As of June 22, the status for several metropolitan suburbs has been raised to Stage 3 ("Stay at Home").

• By the end of the month there had been 64 new cases. The 14th consecutive day of double-digit increases.
• Over 80% of new cases of COVID-19, reported in the nation, were in Victoria.
• There have been calls for a Judicial Inquiry into the Hotel Quarantine Program.
