The article which has the rather long-winded tite: Open Source's 2014: MS 'cancer' embrace, NASDAQ listings and a quiet dog, gives a good summary of Open Source in 2014 ... Pretty much busines as usual.

The article by Matt Asay, makes the point that the biggest news is that there isn't much news ... i.e. (according to Neil Levine of Red Hat) there was "no major enterprise platform launched this year that wasn't built with [open source software]"

He also mentions Microsoft making .NET Open Source ... This after a certain CEO declared that Open Source was a "cancer" and like "communism".

May we all live in interesting times ...
